Understanding the need for a privacy fence

Have been busy at the block since our last post.  David and Dave worked super hard to get the base of the deck in.  We had hoped the water tank would be in place first but got the go ahead from LS to start anyway.  His guys will have to lift the tank up and over the deck and drop it into place.  Don’t envy them that job!

Hi Dave!

Now the deck frame is up we have realised why the inspectors wanted us to have a privacy screen between us and our neighbours. We both have a pretty good view of each other when we are on the deck.

Its funny how what you see on the plan just looks so different in reality.  The deck actually hangs over some existing garden that we hadn’t thought it would get to so now I get to do some gardening to clear it all out.  It has made us rethink a bit of what we intended to do there and funnily enough I think it will look a lot better!

Yesterday we had a delivery of doors for the whole house.  Got to have a quick chat with the driver who had also dropped of timber at the start of the build!  He was pretty impressed with how the house has turned out.  So are we!

lots of doors

Today I popped past because David told me something special had arrived and he was right!

The stairs to the top level have been installed and look fantastic.  (I am sure the tradies all think I am nuts because I get so excited whenever something new happens and take heaps of photos!)

We had been asked last week to choose what posts etc we wanted.  They are supplied by Staircom and after much deliberation we went with these.

And to top it all off we just have to have a cubby shot…along with a picture of our deck sitting under our gorgeous tree.
